Where to Play Pickleball on Nantucket

Tucked away near the airport, if you hang a left onto Macy Lane and follow it to the end, you’ll find the Nantucket Racquet Sports Association (NRSA) at 82 Hinsdale Road.

For years, these NRSA courts were the only dedicated public pickleball courts on the island. They’re public/private in nature: NRSA members can book courts in advance and participate in organized events, but the courts are also open to non-members on a guest basis. If you’re visiting or just here for the summer, you can play without being a member — just plan ahead.

The vibe at NRSA is welcoming and community-driven. The four well-kept outdoor pickleball courts sit beside four platform tennis courts and a cozy warming hut with bathrooms, a kitchen, and a lounge area. You can borrow paddles and balls on-site — look for the plastic bins just outside the hut.

Guest Access:

• $15 per person for each 90-minute session
• Guests can book three days in advance
• Drop-in play times:
  • Monday & Friday: 9:30 AM – 12:00 PM
  • Wednesday: 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM
  • Sunday: 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM

New! Jetties Beach Courts

The big news in 2025 is the brand-new pickleball courts at Jetties Beach — one of the most iconic and idyllic locations on the island. You’re literally playing steps from the beach, surrounded by dunes, with Nantucket Harbor in view.

Jetties Court Highlights:

• 4 dedicated tennis courts
• 2 dedicated pickleball courts
• 1 shared tennis/pickleball court (Court #5)
• All newly resurfaced and striped
• Upgraded fencing and improvements
• Right next to the beach and harbor

Getting There: Head toward Jetties Beach via Bathing Beach Road. The courts are located just before the beach parking area, next to the Sandbar restaurant (more to come).
